MISSION STATEMENT

We are a learning community dedicated to the success of every student.

School Hours & Attendance

Regular School Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
  • Friday: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

Daycare/Playgroup (Jade & Opal Classes):

  • Half-day: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

Regular attendance is crucial for your child’s development. Please inform us in advance if your child will be absent or late.

Late Pick-Up Policy:

  • Kindly pick up your child on time. Late pick-ups may incur additional charges after 30 minutes beyond dismissal.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

  • Drop-Off: Kindly ensure that your child is dropped off between 8:15 am and 8:30 am to allow for a smooth start to the day.
  • Pick-Up: Only authorized individuals listed on the registration form may pick up your child. If someone else will be picking up your child, please notify the administration in advance.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Crystal House Kindergarten does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age or handicap in the provision of educational programs, activities, or opportunities.

Meals & Snacks

Crystal House provides nutritious meals and snacks daily. We ensure that all meals meet dietary standards for young children. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us in writing during registration.

Health & Safety

To maintain a healthy environment for all students:

  • If your child is ill or exhibits symptoms of illness, please keep them at home until they are fully recovered.
  • We conduct regular health and safety drills, including fire and emergency drills.
  • Our staff is trained in first aid, and we maintain strict cleanliness protocols to prevent the spread of illness.

Curriculum & Activities

We offer a holistic and engaging curriculum that focuses on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Core learning areas include:

  • Literacy and Numeracy: Foundation in reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Creativity: Through arts, crafts, and music programs.
  • Physical Development: Involves sports, play, and movement activities.

Additionally, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities such as:

  • Ballet
  • Music – Sing-Alongs
  • Piano Lessons
  • Skating
  • Monkeynastix
  • Horse-Riding
  • Soccer

VISITORS

When visiting the school. please park in a designated parking spot. All visitors are required to report to the office when entering the school, sign a logbook, and receive a visitor’s badge. The faculty and administration welcomes the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your concerns. Please schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher after class so this does not interrupt instructional time. If a parent needs to give his/her child a message, they must go to the office and the child will be called.

Attendance Policy

Crystal House does not accept cash payments. Please refer to our Make a Payment page for detailed instructions on payment methods, which include:

  • Bank Transfer (Equity Bank details provided)
  • Mpesa, Airtel Money, Equitel (Paybill number: 247247)

Ensure that payments are made on time to avoid any disruption in your child’s attendance.

Behavior & Discipline

We encourage positive behavior and use a constructive approach to discipline. Our staff focuses on promoting respect, kindness, and self-regulation in children. In cases of repeated behavioral issues, parents will be notified to discuss appropriate measures.

Transport Services

Crystal House offers a transport service as an add-on for families who require it. Please inquire with our administration to sign up for this service and learn about the routes and costs.

Parent Involvement

We believe in strong partnerships with parents. There are numerous ways for you to be involved in your child’s learning:

  • Attend parent-teacher conferences.
  • Participate in school events and outings.
  • Volunteer during special activities.

Communication

We maintain open communication through:

  • Weekly Updates: Via email or the school app, detailing upcoming events and activities.
  • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Scheduled regularly to discuss your child’s progress.
  • Daily Reports: Provided for daycare and younger children.

Emergency Procedures

In case of emergencies, parents will be contacted immediately. We ask that you provide up-to-date contact information at all times. Emergency drills are conducted regularly to ensure children are familiar with procedures.

We invite all prospective families to take a tour of our facilities. During the tour, you can meet our teachers, explore the classrooms, and ask any questions you may have. To schedule a tour, please contact our office.
